Ancestral Mirrors, Clark Atlanta University Art Museum
2025
Ancestral Mirrors is a visual reckoning. A conjuring of memory, mythology, and multidimensional time through the bodies and landscapes that shaped the artist. These works emerge from the Southern soil, rooted in Black womxn epistemologies and vanished Atlanta neighborhoods like Lightning, and sacred sites like Morris Brown College. Through collage, textile textures, sculpture, and cosmic overlays, Gay maps the tensions between erasure and endurance, gentrification and spiritual return.
