The Great Ascension, Temporary Art Center

Temporary Art Center Project is an inaugural exhibition of site-specific works featuring dozens of Atlanta's premier artists, along with artists that once called Atlanta home.
In The Great Ascension, traditional toile patterns printed on cotton fabric are merged with synthetic hair necklaces, subverting classical European aesthetics to center Afrocentric femininity, identity, and spirituality. The use of these culturally charged materials transforms the installation into a speculative holy site, highlighting hybridity, ancestral reverence, and the divine within everyday Black experiences.
